This book, "Death in Show" by Judi McCoy has been on my TBR piles for a bit. What a lovely book to read. I was so amused by my fictional friends, Ellie Engleman and her main man, Rudy.

The dialog between Ellie and Rudy are at times funny even when Rudy tells dreadful jokes. Oh, did I mention that Ellie can talk to Rudy and Rudy can talk to Ellie. The excitement being that Rudy is a dog. Ellie is his owner, a human. Ellie's human boyfriend is somewhat accepting of Ellie's eccentricity but gets very annoyed and concerned about her snooping in his homicides - Yes, Sam is a Detective.

In this episode, Ellie agrees to attend the Mid-Atlantic Canine Challenge to give moral support to the owner of LuLu, the object of Rudy's passion. A murder happens and Ellie becomes a temporary 'handler.' This book ramps up the humor and action. I was unaware of the nurder weapon until the ending and felt this book was quite better than the earlier ones.

A fun read.

I love Judi's dog books and can't wait for the next one. All that said I don't think handling is so easy even if you could talk to dogs.
I love Judi McCoy's dog walker mysteries. I wish my dogs would talk to me like that! Actually, the dogs were the heroes in the end.
I'm in the beginning of this book and I absolutely love this book. I would recommend this series to everyone. even a non dog owner would enjoy it.
Judi McCoy is bringing me around to being a dog person! I love house rabbits and cats and am tolerant of dogs...but getting better about liking and understanding dogs having read Judi McCoy's books...the stories are wonderful and I absolutely love that animal communication is such a part of the story.....these books rate with me up with Shirley Rousseau's Joe Grey mysteries.
This was the second book that I read in the series and I enjoyed the story. This was before she and Sam got together so it was enjoyable reading their verbal sparring matches. Rudy was top notch as were his canine pals. Look forward to the next in the series.
She has done insufficient research on the setting of her book. Also, I don't like talking dogs.
This is a cutthroat look at the dog show world reminiscent of the movie Best in Show. It's absolutely hysterical, and a lovely, warm fuzzy, underdog ending.
